She first met him while visiting her grandpa Mike O'Brien. Mark did everything he could to protect Heather. Even in elementary school, when she was bullied by three eight graders who stole her doll, Mark stood up to them and tried to get Heather's doll back. Though he was badly beaten up, he still managed to get the doll. Forward to their adult years, Heather was working at her boyfriend's bar when Mark came in for a drink. It turned out that this day, goons hired by Xavier McGenis, a.k.a. Mr X, came to the bar to collect on back payments Heather's boyfriend owed them. Heather had no idea that her boyfriend was involved in selling drugs but with help from her longtime friend, Mark, they managed to escape the thugs and Xavier. Having seen her in the flesh, Xavier took a personal liking to Heather and planned to make her his new trophy. Heather's streak of bad luck continued when she witnessed her boyfriend's murder at the hands of Xavier. Often the victim of Xavier's relentless pursuits, Heather can always count on Mark Jagger, an agent of A.S.H codenamed Ultimate, to come rescue her like a knight in shining armor.
